Brian Peterson/Owner

Brian Peterson has a lifelong passion for athletics and fitness. While growing up in Bexley, Brian played numerous sports but quickly found football was his favorite. He excelled on the football field while at Bexley High School. He was co-captain of the 1997 Bexley Lions league championship team and earned First Team All-State honors in 1997. Brian attended college at the University of Dayton before graduating with a B.S. from the University of Kansas.

After college Brian worked as a veterinary pharmaceutical sales representative for 9 years, but he never lost his passion for athletics and fitness. In 2014 he had back surgery for a herniated disc, which had plagued him since 1998. After successful back surgery, he wanted a new fitness challenge and he began CrossFit. He immediately fell in love with the workouts and the community aspect of CrossFit. Not only did CrossFit make Brian more physically fit but it made him mentally stronger.

In early 2017, Brian got his Level 1 CrossFit Certification and began coaching at CrossFit Clintonville. Brian is now a Level 2 Certified CrossFit trainer. Helping other people achieve their fitness goals has been a rewarding experience for him. Outside of CrossFit, Brian spending time with his wife, two kids and his dog Finn. He also enjoys photography, road biking, yoga, hiking and traveling.

Amy Sandel

As a kid, Amy competed in both softball and dance.  She has always made fitness and staying active a regular part of her routine.  When she was introduced to CrossFit in 2011, she never looked back.  Although intimidated to use a barbell at first, she quickly grew to love the sport – especially the weightlifting aspect of it. 

Amy began coaching over five years ago.  Her biggest motivation is helping others not only improve their health, but improve their confidence through fitness.  She is continually inspired by the success of her athletes. Amy’’s current certifications are CrossFit Level 2, CrossFit Strongman, CrossFit Adaptive & Inclusive Trainer, USA Weightlifting Certified Coach and CPR/AED/First Aid Certified

Ahmed Halim

Born in Cairo, Egypt Ahmed grew up in Manchester, UK where he developed his love for soccer and athletics like track & field. Upon moving to the US, Ahmed picked up basketball, football, and lacrosse. He participated and competed in 6 sports during his time in high school. Upon graduation he attended Ohio Wesleyan University where he competed in track & field collegiately.

During his time in college he picked up the triple jump and long, jump with which he had prior experience. Ahmed has a multiple long jump, and triple jump Conference, State, and Regional Champion titles. Ahmed became an All-American his senior season, breaking a decade-long school record. Ahmed is passionate about sharing his knowledge with others. His favorite aspect of coaching is seeing growth and perseverance within athletes.

Colin Northrup

Colin is a native of Bexley where he grew up playing every sport he could find and eventually settled into year-round soccer and wrestling careers. He continued both sports as a varsity athlete at Dublin Coffman High School and at the club level as an exercise science major at The University of Cincinnati. Post college he spent several years ambitiously chasing his newly born dream of making a living as a traveling rock climber and soon settled back in Columbus after a short stint in Chicago where he picked up personal training as one of many odd jobs collected to finance life on the road. 

Nearly ten years later he was introduced to Crossfit when Coleman invited him to workout at Crossfit Clintonville and he was hooked. He started training his personal clients at the gym shortly after meeting Pat, Brian, and Ahmed that same day and then quickly took the plunge into coaching securing his CF-L1 in January 2019. He also holds Movnat L1 and NASM CPT/PES certifications and is dedicated to the pursuit and evolution of a happy, healthy, and fit community!

Jason Hayes

Jason has had a passion for athletics his entire life.  He was a standout football player and track and field runner at Reynoldsburg High School where he earned All-State honors in both sports and is the school record holder in the 100m dash.  While studying Sports and Leisure studies at The Ohio State University, Jason returned to his alma mater to coach for the next 10 years.  His last two years of coaching, the girls track teams were state champions. 

Jason has made a career out of fitness working as a corporate fitness manager, NASM certified personal trainer, and group fitness instructor.  He discovered CrossFit while looking to change up his strength training routine. He obtained his CF Level 2 Certification in February 2022 and has been coaching since August of 2018.  He enjoys the variety of workouts of CrossFit and the community feel that CrossFit Bexley has to offer. In his spare time, Jason enjoys woodworking, golf, and spending time with his wife Jamie, 6-year-old son Jake, and their yellow lab Hunter.

Madison Rivero

Madison is a student at Ohio State coming from a background in competitive powerlifting. She started doing CrossFit back in 2015. She loves helping both adults and kids find their love of fitness with CrossFit!

 

Haley Schroeder

Haley is semi native to Columbus (Granville) and was first exposed to CrossFit there in 2011.

Coming home for summer breaks, she’d drop in from time to time at her local CrossFit to keep up with her summer conditioning goals. Haley played DIII Women’s Lacrosse at Wittenberg University, where she served as Captain her senior year. Upon graduating in 2017, Haley longed for an team-like environment with competitive spirit. With her dad recently acquiring his L-2 status at the time, he pushed her to return to CrossFit to fill what she had been missing.

By summer of 2020, Haley had moved in with her best friend and current member, Jack, in Clintonville. Which eventually led her to join CFC full time.

She fell in love with the CFC and CFB communities and wanted to further invest herself by obtaining her L-1 in November of 2021. She began coaching at the start of 2022 and has thoroughly enjoyed helping members at both CFC and CFB reach fitness levels they didn’t realize were possible.

Katie Younger

•Went to the University of Dayton for Spanish and K-12
•married with one baby girl, Miss Olivia, and a 14 pound dog named Thor
•ISSA certified personal trainer and sport nutrition coach
•CrossFit L1
•fluent in Spanish
•has run 26 full/half marathons, including the Boston Marathon 2x
•competes in women’s physique, finished 3rd in the country at nationals 8 months after giving birth (whoop whoop for strong mamas)
•has done CF for 3 years
•owns a PT + nutritional coaching business
•LOVES FOOD AND LOVES TO BAKE
•rocks out to old school 90s Hip-Hop

Briana Gratz

Briana has her Master’s in Athletic Training and works as a Certified Athletic Trainer for OSU Wexner Medical Center’s Sports Medicine Team. She is a former collegiate trackstar and grew up starting at age 5 doing gymnastics and tennis along with track throughout high school.

She is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and this the start of her 5th year doing CrossFit for fun and fitness.
